Why consider a career in Spa Nails?
One benefit a few of our currently attending cosmetology students have found is that the Spa Nail course is a shorter course to get started in the Spa and Salon industry. They can begin the career they have always dreamed of by working their way through Cosmetology school after graduating from Spa Nails. This will help to support their family and helps them in career experience for the future after they have a Cosmetology license. Others like the opportunities offered by our partnerships at Bellus Academy.
The Bellus Academy Spa Nail program does not only focus on the basic procedure of manicuring, pedicuring and acrylic nails, but goes even further partnering with Creative Nail Design (CND). CND helps our students and graduates understand professional terminologies, while fulfilling their creative skills in i.e. nail enhancements which can include liquid & powder, UV gel light systems, nail art etc. CND has always been client focused and is constantly looking at new technologies/consistently researching & developing new technological products to protect the client and artist from potential product overexposure, while preserving the integrity of the natural nail. One of the “hottest” new and voted the number 1 new product in the country is Shellac, which our students are trained to perform, something that nail technologists around the world are clamoring for.
Jan Arnold of Creative Nail Design noticed that Fashion Designers were not completing the looks of the models as they were walking the runway without polished, finished nails. This was an opportunity to enhance the nails of models in the cutting edge fashion arena.
Lynelle Lynch, President of Bellus Academy, is always striving for our students to be the top 10% in the industry. She enhanced the manicuring curriculum at Bellus Academies to include more Spa related curriculum. Bellus Academy has incorporated spa services into the curriculum to enhance the student’s career success when graduating and licensing in the State of California. The curriculum includes skill sets in aromatherapy, hot stones, reflexology and paraffin treatments.

Congratulations on setting a goal! As a future professional in the beauty and wellness industry, you have chosen wisely to embark on a career that has unlimited potential. So, what’s next?
• Define your goal: While the end result is important, it’s even more important to define your goal in the “big picture” sense. What are the steps you should take to reach your goal?
• Break your goal down into smaller, more achievable immediate goals.
• Be a solution-based person. While it is a huge attribute to be able to recognize problems, it’s even more important to be a part of the solution. An employee who has suggestions for how to make reasonable changes that benefit a company on the whole is a very valuable employee.
• Anticipate challenges.
• Celebrate your success! Try to celebrate something you have done to reach your goals EVERY DAY. Being a success isn’t always about the end result. The journey is equally as important. If you choose to celebrate some measure of success every day, you will feel a greater sense of purpose and accomplishment along the way.
“It’s important to have specific dreams. Dream Big. Dream without fear.”
— Randy Pausch
Innovation is the new BUZZ word in the Beauty Education Industry. While fashion has always been forever changing, the Beauty Education Industry has remained mostly stagnant in its approach to teaching and in the way it is perceived as a professional culture. That is…until Bellus Academy.
With more people and businesses realizing the importance of creating a lifestyle and business culture of health and wellness, Bellus Academy President, Lynelle Lynch had the brilliant idea to bring beauty, health and wellness together into one institution. Bellus Academy has evolved from a simple beauty educational facility to a full service institution that teaches every facet of the profession. From beauty and wellness classes to Best In Business, a program built by world renowned spa expert Joanne Berry, on how to build your brand and run your business, each student leaves Bellus Academy with a structured set of tools and skills to help them rapidly advance their new career.

His work has been featured in countless magazines including Elle, Oprah, In-Style, Cosmopolitan as well as popular trade publications such as American Salon, Launchpad, Behind the Chair and Modern Salon.
Master Educator Nick Berardi brings a wealth of experience and professionalism to the Bellus Educational Team. His past teaching experience includes: Former Senior Creative director of Vidal Sassoon’s New York City Salons, former `U.S. Creative Director for KMS and current international Top Stylist with Wella’s Education.
