Fun with Make-Up this Fall
Guest Blogger Kristina-Monique Cortez, Director of Make-Up Artistry Programs
Ohhh the joys of Fall. Not only do we get to enjoy boots, pumpkin pie, turkey, family and the “traditional” rituals for the holidays but we get to “PLAY” with people’s faces that LOVE HALLOWEEN as much as makeup artists!!! What could be more fun this season for Halloween than a little theatrical and fantasy makeup, two of my ultimate faves! For those of you makeup artists or you makeup lovers that just like to dabble I have a few Halloween suggestions that can help boost your look this year. I know at times it can be challenging to get creative for some so give this a try. Give yourself a fierce eye shadow application and then bump it up by playing off of it with some cake makeup. Not sure what cake makeup is? It is a matte powder compressed and activated with water. You can use a sponge for larger areas or a definition brush to create detailing. Want to take it to the next level? Let’s try some pretty embellishments such as crystals, feathers, glitter, studs, buttons, you get the idea right? Not sure what glue to use? Eyelash glue or spirit gum work pretty good as some adhesives that you could use for this application. Spirit gum does last longer but can be challenging to remove so be sure to buy the remover. Remember any time you use new adhesives give yourself a little patch test to be certain you are not allergic. Happy playing and Good Luck!!!
