Book signing with Howard Murad, M.D. | Complimentary Treatments | Networking

Howard Murad, M.D.

World-renowned skin care specialist Dr. Howard Murad will be honored at an Industry Appreciation Night held at Bellus Academy, on September 22nd. Dr. Murad is widely acknowledged as one of the world’s foremost authorities on skin health and has been named “Best forward-thinking doctor” (Vogue Magazine) and “a beauty genius” (Elle). In addition to being recognized for his skincare accomplishments, Dr. Murad will speak at the Industry Appreciation Night and sign copies of his newest book, “The Water Secret.” This will be Dr. Murad’s first personal appearance since the book’s launch.

“Dr. Murad’s achievements in the area of skin care have been nothing short of phenomenal,” said Lynelle Lynch, President of Bellus Academy. “We are thrilled he can be with us for our Industry Appreciation Night, as we are very excited to present him with a Professional Partner Recognition Award for his significant contributions to the beauty industry.”

As the Bellus Insider I get to interview students who are externing at the hot salons and spas in Southern California. Today I interviewed Kim Webb who just got back from an amazing externship at The Doves Studio in Santa Monica. A little a about Kim – she enrolled at Bellus three weeks after graduating High School and has excelled in the Cosmetology program. She was only 17 when she enrolled. Now at 18 – she is excelling fast!

About The Doves – They are the elite Creative Directors for the color and product lines, Wella and Sebastian. They are also recognized as some of the most sought after hairdressers in the world. They have won some of the most prestigious awards and continue to advocate advanced education.

I interviewed Kim in our Vichy Shower treatment room at the school. Sounds strange but it’s the only place we could get away from the action on the Salon floor. I hope this video provides some insight to current students who would like to land a great externship or to people who are looking to get into Cosmetology. If you leave questions – I will answer them!

ITEC (International Therapy Education Council) from London came to our school yesterday and tested some of our massage and esthetic students so they could get a qualification that’s recognized in 38 countries worldwide! The great thing is once the students have this qualification they can work in Australia, Europe, New Zealand, South Africa and many other countries plus the cruise ships – it really is a passport to the world.

Now they also have a hair qualification too for hair stylists so if anyone wishes to travel in our great industry they should inquire about ITEC – it’s a great qualification to have. Also, STEINER will be here on the 20th May conducting more interviews for students wishing to work on the premier cruise ships, if you need more information don’t hesitate to contact me.
